How Slate handles workspace data.
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Slate provides web and mobile workspace tools for organizations. This policy explains how Slate collects, uses, and shares information when people use Slate websites, mobile apps, and related services.
Information we collect
Account and profile information
Name, email address, phone number, role, organization membership, workspace membership, and profile details used to authenticate users and operate Slate workspaces. Sign in with Apple may provide a private relay email when the user chooses Hide My Email.
Workspace content
Messages, tasks, comments, meeting notes, uploaded files, images, media links, and other content users choose to create or share in a workspace.
Calendar, notification, and device data
Meeting and scheduling information, device push tokens, platform details, and notification preferences used to provide app functionality.
Location data
Location may be collected when a workspace enables time tracking and a user grants permission for clock-in or clock-out verification.
Diagnostics and support data
Request identifiers, route and status details, error reports, logs, and related technical data used to secure, debug, and improve Slate.
How we use information
- Provide authentication, workspace access, collaboration, chat, tasks, Meet rooms, analytics, notifications, and time tracking.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and support customer requests.
- Improve reliability, performance, and product quality.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable agreements.
How information is shared
Slate does not sell personal information or use personal information for third-party advertising. Information may be shared with:
- Service providers that host, secure, monitor, or support Slate.
- Customer organizations and authorized workspace members according to their roles and permissions.
- Legal, safety, or compliance recipients when required by law or needed to protect rights, users, or the service.
Session recording on the home page
Slate uses Hoot Lens, a product of Parallel Platforms, to record how visitors interact with the Slate home page.
- Where: only on the Slate home page (myslate.space). No other page is recorded, including sign-in, registration, onboarding, workspace, meeting, booking, support, and partner form pages. Browsers that are signed in to Slate are never recorded.
- What is recorded: clicks, scrolling, pointer movement, and the page as displayed, so Slate can understand how visitors use the site and improve it.
- What is not recorded: passwords, payment fields, and one-time codes. Anything the site marks as private is excluded. Text typed into form fields is masked. Emails, phone numbers, and card-like numbers shown on the page are redacted before anything leaves your browser.
- Where it is stored: recordings are stored with Google Cloud (Firebase and Cloud Storage) in the United States and kept for a limited period (currently 14 days).
- Processing by OpenAI: Slate may send aggregated click counts and element labels to OpenAI to generate suggestions for improving the site. Recordings and page text are not sent.
Recording is on by default on the home page. To turn it off, use the Recording settings link in the site footer, or open , and clear Record my visits to public pages. Recording stops, data not yet sent is discarded, and your choice is saved in that browser for later visits. Browsers that send Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track are never recorded. Turning recording off does not remove recordings already sent. To request deletion of a recording, contact privacy@slateclubs.com.
Customer workspace data
Many Slate workspaces are controlled by customer organizations. Those organizations decide who may access a workspace, what roles users have, what modules are enabled, and how workspace content is managed. Users should contact their organization administrator for workspace-specific access, correction, retention, or deletion requests.
Security and retention
Slate uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support legitimate operational needs.
Children and student information
Slate is intended for use through organizations and authorized workspace users. When a customer organization uses Slate with student or youth program information, that organization is responsible for obtaining any required notices, consents, and permissions for its users and records. Read Age Suitability for store-review age notes.
Your choices
Users may update certain account information in Slate, control device permissions through operating system settings, and contact their organization administrator about workspace content. Account holders can start an account-deletion request after signing in. Slate immediately shuts down account access; organization-owned records and legally retained information are handled under the applicable customer and legal obligations. Users may also contact Slate about privacy questions.
